Bundesliga Update (23 October, 2010)

 Bundesliga round-up
Konan: At the double

Werder Bremen maintained their improved form with a comfortable 4-1 win at Borussia Monchengladbach.
Marko Marin opened the scoring in the sixth minute before goals from Wesley and Aaron Hunt put them 3-0 up. Per Mertesacker scored an own goal with 23 minutes remaining but Claudio Pizarro netted to pour cold water on any hopes of a late comeback.

A brace from Didier Konan helped propel Hannover up to third in the table as they defeated Cologne 2-1.
Konan scored twice in the opening 15 minutes while Martin Lanig's 85th minute goal for Cologne was too little, too late.

Nuremberg earned a three-point haul against fellow strugglers Wolfsburg, notching a 2-1 success. Ilkay Gundogan broke the deadlock on 11 minutes but Wolfburg hit back through striker Grafite. However,  Nuremberg landed the victory in the second half courtesy of Mike Frantz's strike.

Freiburg edged their meeting with Kaiserslautern, recording a 2-1 triumph after coming back from a goal down. Jan Moravek handed the visitors the lead but goals from Papiss Cisse and substitute Stefan Reisinger completed the turnaround.

Elsewhere, Frankfurt played out a goalless draw against Schalke at the Commerzbank-Arena.
